M60 have built a bespoke scaffold to provide adequate access to all 4 elevations of the buildings.
The East elevation has been bridged and secured to the facade wall due to the extremely low integral strength of the beneath foundation. All of which whilst working within the university’s rules to eliminate any disruption to the student's education.

Originally opened in 1895 as the Refuge Assurance Building, this remarkable Victorian landmark is one of Manchester’s most recognisable historic buildings and a true piece of the city’s architectural heritage.

This project was a standout moment for M60 Scaffolding, our first major contract right in the heart of Manchester city centre. We installed a 120m x 14m external scaffold, along with complex internal elements such as a suspended beam section and a temporary roof to protect the high‑street shops below.
